The PennSOULvanians are a 7-piece ensemble comprised of Chet Denny on Acoustic/Rthym Guitar, Brett Fanelli on Keyboard, Aaron Kenawell on Bass Guitar, Nate Nagle on Lead/Electric Guitar, Lyndsay Reilly on Saxophone, Randy Sciarrillo on Drums, and MC/Vocalist Michael Thomas.
Each member of the band comes from very different backgrounds, but all share a mutual love for the community that they proudly represent. This diverse cast blends their individual styles and influences from Rock, Funk, Hip-Hop, Jazz, and Reggae into a soulful head-nodic groove with catchy melodies and lyrical hooks that is enjoyed by audiences just as diverse as the band and their music.
The group plays regularly throughout the local area, and has headlined festivals such as Blair County African American Heritage Festival, Route 22 Rock & Blues Festival, Cre814 Fest, Activate Altoona at Altoona Curve Baseball Stadium, and several others.
The PennSOULvanians play routinely at McGarveys and 4Ds in Altoona, and is scheduled to release their debut EP this summer, as well as return to the festival circuit. The band is excited to work with Hollidaysburg Arts Council, and play this Father’s Day in the ‘Burg on Sunday, June 18th, 2023 at 6pm6.
