How it all began..
The HAAC started in 1998. At a public town hall meeting, the group identified a need to establish an organization to bring art and music to the Hollidaysburg area. It was identified that there was a need for more arts activities for young and young at heart. The idea was embraced by many who volunteered time and talents to the group we are today. Concerts, art camps, adult workshops and other arts program began to planned. Our efforts were noticed by the public and gathered support from many.
In fact, the Hollidaysburg Area Arts Council is an inductee into the Blair County Arts Hall of Fame. It was a huge honor to have received this prestigious award. Others who acknowledged our work and granted us awards were the Blair County Historical Society, Hollidaysburg Alumni Association, Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, and Pennsylvania Rural Arts Alliance, just to name a few.
Financial and in-kind support from the Borough of Hollidaysburg, Hollidaysburg Area School District, local corporations, foundations and the private sector enables us to offer quality programs and activities to enrich the leisure time for the members of the Hollidaysburg community.
We encourage you to look over the pages of our website for more information on becoming a member or sponsor, making donations, and our annual arts events.
